Clarence T. Peterson ('21)


C.T. Peterson - Hall of FameClarence T. Peterson (C'21) was one of the most outstanding coaches in the history of the University of Dubuque. His coaching career began in 1921 after graduating from UD and continued for an incredible 45 years. From 1921 until his retirement in 1967, he coached Baseball, Basketball, Football, Tennis, Track, served as Athletic Director, Vice-President of the Alumni Association, and was a member of the university faculty. Peterson led the Spartans Men's Basketball teams to back-to-back Conference of Iowa Colleges Championships in 1922 and 1923. Peterson would win back-to-back titles again in 1944 and 1945 this time with the Track program.
