Dale Giesler ('61)

Dale Giesler (C'61) was a First Team All-Iowa Conference selection in 1958 and 1959 for the University of Dubuque. Giesler rushed for a school record 23 touchdowns (was broke in 1986) with 12 coming during his junior season and 11 coming during his senior year. He was named Team Captain as a senior. One of his biggest games came during his senior season when he scored three second half touchdowns to lead the Spartans to a 25-20 victory over Upper Iowa. Giesler finished second in the league in scoring as a junior with 72 points and lead the league in scoring as a senior with 66 points.
After graduation Giesler coached Football at Fulton High School (Ill.), compiling a 15-year record of 105-37 with a 2A State Championship in 1976. He also coached Track and Fulton.
