Scholarship Criteria and Deadlines
The primary purpose of the ACI-NA Commissioners Committee Scholarship is to provide financial support to students working toward a career in airport management or airport administration. Up to three annual scholarships may be awarded in amounts of up to $3,000 per recipient. Previous scholarship recipients may reapply for the annual scholarship. Applications must be complete and postmarked by December 15th of each year.

The ADMA Scholarship Fund was established to provide assistance to students pursuing careers in the aviation field. Those enrolled in an accredited aviation program may be eligible. The three ADMA International Scholarships are $2,000 for aviation management, $2,000 for professional pilot and $2,000 for A&P mechanic. Applications may be obtained by e-mailing adma@fernley.com, at the Aviation Distributors and Manufacturers Association or faxing a request to (215) 963-9784. Applications and more information are also available from the ADMA Website. The deadline is March 15th of each year.

Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA) Scholarships are awarded to promising students who are enrolled in programs leading to a bachelor's degree or higher in aviation-related courses of study and to full-time employees engaged in advanced study to improve their skills in an air traffic control or aviation discipline.

CAE SimuFlite's Scholarship program was created to promote business aviation as a career to young aviators. 2003 marks the program's 17th consecutive year, with scholarships awarded through the University Aviation Association (UAA), Women in Aviation International (WAI), and the Organization of Black Airline Pilots (OBAP). The 2009 Comm1 Aviation Scholarship Program offers scholarships intended to defray tuition or flight training expenses. The two awards are $1,000 each. All applications are due in September of each year. Eligibility requirements are as follows:

The Judith Resnick Scholarship is in memory of Judith Resnick, one of the astronauts who died in the space shuttle Challenger. The scholarship is awarded four times per year, on a quarterly basis, and is intended to provide women with support and assistance to advance their training in the aviation profession. The scholarship is to be used toward flight training with American Flyers. This scholarship is applicable only toward the certified instructor ratings (CFIA and CFII).

The LeRoy W. Homer, Jr. Foundation Scholarship is intended to encourage and support young men and women who wish to pursue aviation careers as professional pilots. There are up to three annual awards given totaling $5,000 that pay for all training needed to obtain private pilot certification. Refer to the Website for deadlines, as they change annually.

The annual John E. Godwin, Jr. Memorial Scholarship award amount is $2,500 and is to be used for the express purpose of flight training for any pilot certificate and/or flight rating issued by the Federal Aviation Administration, at any NATA member company offering flight training under the aegis of Part 61, Part 141, or any future part of the Federal Air Regulations that may be enacted to govern flight training. Scholarship applications are due to the NATF on or before the last Friday in November each year.

The annual Dan L. Meisinger, Sr. Memorial Learn to Fly Scholarship amount is $2,500 and is to be used for the express purpose of initial or primary flight training. Scholarship applications are due to the NATF on or before the last Friday in November each year.

The two Pioneers of Flight Scholarships are $1,000 each for one year of full-time study. Awards are for undergraduate study only.
To be eligible, scholarship applicants shall be college students in their sophomore or junior year at the time of application, intending to pursue full-time study at an accredited four-year college or university, and demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in general aviation. Interested students must complete an application and submit it along with a complete transcript of grades, letter of recommendation, an essay on general aviation and a paper indicating career goals in general aviation. Scholarship applications are due to the NATF on or before the last Friday in December each year.

The Tailhook Educational Foundation Scholarship is to be used at any four-year university and can be applied to any major. The 20 grants are for $2,000 each. The deadline is March 15th.

Women in Aviation International offers various aviation scholarships ranging from $500 to over $30,000 per scholarship in such career fields as mechanics, engineers, management, pilots, aviation dispatcher licenses and internships. The deadline for scholarships is the first Friday in December and they are awarded at the annual WAI conference in March of the following year.
