Sara is a doctoral candidate in Religion at Emory University. Prior to her doctoral studies she earned an Master of Religion from Yale Divinity School and a Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia. Sara recently completed eight months of ethnographic fieldwork with alternative Holy Land tours to Palestine and Israel in order understand the kinds of meaning middle class American Christians make from journeys to the margins and their encounters with structurally marginalized persons. Sara's passion for social ethics emerges from several years of domestic and international social justice work with a variety of nonprofits and NGOs.
