Spartans Receive Votes in D3Hoops Men's Basketball Poll

DUBUQUE, IOWA - The University of Dubuque Men's Basketball team is starting to get national recognition for its nearly flawless start to the 2012-13 season. At 9-1, the Spartans received four points in the most recent D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll. The Spartans only loss this season was on the road at #23 UW-Stout.

Since the Spartans loss over Thanksgiving, they have outscored their last five opponents 407-283. UD is 3-0 at home and 2-0 on neutral sites. Leading the Spartans in scoring in six of ten games played is Chris Frazier (Heidelberg, Germany/Heidelberg). Frazier is averaging a team high 15.3 points per game with 37 three-pointers made. His 3.7 three's per game ranks fifth in Division III. Senior Derek Griffin (Geneseo, Ill./Geneseo) is currently leading the Iowa Conference in field goal percentage at 68.1% (32-47). Frazier, Jordan Townsend (Moline, Ill./Moline Senior) and Isaiah Reeves (Anderson, S.C./Vista Ridge) have each started all ten games this season.
