Spartans Dominate Beavers on the Road

STORM LAKE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's basketball team spread the scoring around evenly and shot lights out from beyond the three point arc as they won going away at Buena Vista University on Wednesday evening by a score of 73-58. The loss was just the third defeat in league play for the host Beavers. UD bounced back after suffering a heartbreaking overtime 68-70 loss to BV on January 12. UD is now 6-2 at home and 8-4 away this season.

UD started hot and never cooled as they finished the night sinking 11-17 three point attempts (64.7%). Guard Isaiah Reeves found his mojo and went 5-8 from the field en route to making 5-7 three points attempts to lead the Spartan scoring with 16 points. Lucas Ware and Jordan Townsend both finished with 12 points as Mitch Michaelis added 11 points. UD made 25-52 shots from the field (48.1%) and were 12-17 at the free throw line. The Spartans Townsend grabbed eight rebounds including seven defensive boards as the Spartans dominated rebounding 37-27. The visiting Spartans used their bench to out score the Beaver bench 25-18. UD forced BV into 14 turnovers where they would score 18 points. BVU had the lead just once in the match-up.

UD returns home to Stoltz Sports Center for Saturday's contest against the Central College Dutch with tip-off slated for 4:00 p.m. on Davison Court.
