Spartans Fall Short to Duhawks

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's lacrosse team played even in the first half of action before the host Duhawks out scored the Spartans 4-1 as time ran out in the opening 30 minutes. 

In the second half, UD and Loras both would finish the night by scoring four goals each in the second half of play. UD's scoring leader was Judy Borah who led all scorers with five goals and assisted on another. Kalee Roth and Bridget Schirmers each added a goal in the Spartans loss.

Dionna Atwood grabbed five saves after facing 24 shots in goal. The Spartans finished with 20 shots, grabbed 38 ground balls, and ended the evening 6-6 in clears. UD finished with four Spartans in the penalty box for eight minutes and Loras ended with two in the penalty for four minutes. Loras had 22 turnovers and UD ended with 19 in the loss.
