LoCasto Selected First Team Academic All-District

DUBUQUE, IOWA – University of Dubuque Women’s Tennis student-athlete Stephanie LoCasto (Lake Zurich, Ill./Lake Zurich) has been selected as a member of the Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 Division III First Team At-Large. First Team honorees advance to the All-American ballot where first, second, and third team All-Americans will be selected and announced on June 4th.

During the 2012-13 season, LoCasto finished with a school record seven wins in doubles play. She also finished with a 10-11 record in singles, the fourth highest single season win total in school history. The sophomore finished the season with a 4-5 record at #4 singles while also earning wins at #2 and #3 singles. LoCasto was 4-1 in singles tournament action. She finished with a 5-7 record at #2 doubles.

The Spartans finished the 2012-13 season with a school record 7 wins with two wins by a score of 9-0. LoCasto’s three set victory at #4 singles gave UD a 5-4 victory over Loras, the Spartans third straight win over the Duhawks.

LoCasto, a sophomore Environmental Science major currently holds a 3.98 grade point average. She was named Academic All-Iowa Conference in the Fall of 2012.

Sports eligible for the At-Large Team are: Bowling, Crew, Fencing, Field Hockey, Golf, Gymnastics, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Rifle, Skiing, Swimming, Tennis, and Water Polo.
