Men's Golf Wins Loras Fall Invite

ASBURY, Iowa - The University of Dubuque once again finished at the top of the leaderboard on Tuesday at the Meadows Golf Club. The Spartans finished the afternoon shooting a team total 289 to capture the 2013 Loras College Fall Invitational at the nine team tournament. UD finished just one shot over Par on the Par 72, 6675 yards course.
Led by a trio of Spartans who finished 2nd, 3rd, and 4th overall helped coach Jon Davison and his linksters to one of the best starts in recent years. Eric Wolfe (Sr., Cuba City, Wis.) was runner-up medalist with a round of 70. Teammates Josh Schuberg (Jr., Elburn, Ill.) added a 71 and Martin Odegard (Sr., Dubuque, Iowa shot a 72 which helped pace the Spartans to another leading finish in 2013.
The Spartans White team finished in fifth place and were led by Chance Manternach (So., Monticello, Iowa) who paced the second team with a score of 74, just two over Par.
In two meets this fall, UD has not finished out of at least a tie for the team title. The Spartans next meet will be at DIII Midwest Regional Fall Classic held at Trappers Turn in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., on Sept. 8-9.
