Lynn Named IIAC Performer of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA - The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced today that Coe College volleyball player Mackenzie Harbaugh and Coe College football player Mitch Montgomery have been named IIAC Athletes of the Week for the week ending September 8, 2013. The Conference also announced Performers of the Week in eight fall sports.
University of Dubuque sophomore Katie Lynn (Fox River Grove, Ill./Barrington) has been named IIAC Women’s Soccer (Offensive) Performer of the Week. She is the second consecutive Spartan to win the award after Alexandra Watkins won last week. Lynn scored two goals and assisted on three other as UD went 2-0 on the week. Lynn scored two goals against Marian including the game winner in overtime. Her three assists all came in the Spartans 7-1 win over Lawrence.
On the season, Lynn sits third in the Iowa Conference with seven points. Teammates Watkins and Megan Siepler are currently first and second respectively. Lynn’s three assists vs. Lawrence were the most for a Spartan since Chelsea Kittleson had three on September 1st, 2009.
