Nevills Leads Spartans at Brissman/Lundeen

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS - The University of Dubuque Men's Cross Country team finished 25th of 35 teams at the Brissman/Lundeen Invitational on Friday night. Sophomore Payton Nevills (Savanna, Ill./West Carroll) led the Spartans with a time of 26:51.0, the ninth fastest time in UD history at 8,000 meters. Nevills took 80th of 491 total runners. 

All five of the Spartans top five finishers were sophomores with Jordan Murray (DeWitt, Iowa/Central DeWitt), Javier Rodriguez (Waukegan, Ill./St. Joseph Academy), and Matt Zittritsch (Humboldt, Iowa/Humboldt) all finishing within four seconds of each other between 28:59 and 29:03. Devante Miller (Markham, Ill./Bremen) placed sixth among the Spartans runners in his first race of the year.
