IIAC Women's Tennis Individual Tournament Canceled Due to Inclement Weather

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA - The 2013 Iowa Conference Women's Tennis Individual Tournament scheudled for Friday, October 6th through Saturday, October 7th has been cancelled. The threat of severe weather in the Decorah area has forced the tournament to be called off without a makeup date. 

The 2013 All-IIAC Women's Tennis Team will be announced later this month along with the IIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Year and Coach of the Year. 

The Spartans are currently 4-9 on the season. UD started the season off by winning three of their first four games. In the Spartans most recent action, they defeated Monmouth College by the score of 9-0. 

Senior Janine Wegner (Pittsville, Wis./Pittsville) leads the team with 14 total wins (7-singles/7-doubles). Wegner has teamed with sophomore Alexandra Dixon (Camanche, Iowa/Camanche) in all seven doubles victories including a 5-2 record at #3 doubles. Dixon and Wegner's seven wins ties a school record for doubles wins in a season. 

Ashley Schlueter (Hiawatha, Iowa/Kennedy) has six wins at #3 Singles. 

The IIAC Team Championships to decide the Iowa Conference representative in the NCAA Division III Championships will be played on April 25th and 26th in Cedar Rapids. The top-six finishers ths fall have qualified with Coe winning the regular season title and the right to host.
