CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA — The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced today that Wartburg College women's golfer Rochelle Beardsley and soccer player Cade Shatzer have been named IIAC Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 6. The Conference also announced Performers of the Week in seven fall sports.

University of Dubuque kicker Curtis Prull (Monticello, Iowa/Monticello) was named IIAC Football (Speical Teams) Performer of the Week. Prull set a new school record with three field goals in the Spartans 23-21 victory over Central College. The sophomore made field goals of 20, 24, and 37 yards. He was also 2-2 on extra point attempts. Through four games this season he is 12-12 on extra points attempts and 4-5 on field goals with a long kick of 40 yards.

UD linebacker Blaine Snitker (Waukon, Iowa/Waukon) also earned IIAC Football (Defensive) Performer of the Week honors.

Prull is the first Spartan to win IIAC Special Teams Performer of the Week since October 30, 2011 when Steve Jones won the award. It is the third time a UD student-athlete has won the Special Teams award since the football awards were split (Offense-Defense-Special Teams) in 2009.

UP NEXT: The Spartans will host Luther College on October 12th for Homecoming. Game time at Chalmers Field is 2:00 pm.
