Men's Cross Country Finishes Sixth at Lamb/Kohawk Invite

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA – The University of Dubuque Men’s Cross Country team took part in the Lamb/Kohawk Invitational hosted by Coe College. The Spartans finished in sixth place with 155 points. Jordan Murray (DeWitt, Iowa/Central DeWitt) edged teammate Javier Rodriguez (Waukegan, Ill./St. Joseph Academy) by .3 seconds as the top UD finisher on the 8,000 meter course at Noelridge Park.

Matt Zittritsch (Humboldt, Iowa/Humboldt) was third for Dubuque in 39th place at 29:39.6. Freshman Jonathan Berland (Lime Springs, Iowa/Crestwood) came in fourth for the Spartans and 45th overall at 30:20.7. Blair Burdt (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) crossed the finish line fith for UD in 50th place. Luke Elsbernd (Calmar, Iowa/South Winn) and Tyler Peugh (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) each ran their fastest time of the year.

UP NEXT: The Spartans will compete in the Loras College: Dr. Tucker Invite on Friday, October 18th with the men’s race beginning at 5:15 pm. The Dr. Tucker Invite will be the last regular season meet for UD before competing at the Iowa Conference Championships on November 2nd at Central College.
