University of Dubuque Heritage Center Announces SchoolBus Performance Series

Oct 17, 2013 | Kristi Lynch

The University of Dubuque is pleased to announce the launch of its newest performing arts initiative, Live at Heritage Center SchoolBus Performance Series.  Beginning Winter 2014, this annual series will provide learning opportunities for K-8 students throughout the entire tri-state area.

The inaugural SchoolBus series kicks off in February 2014 and extends through April 2014, featuring three titles and a total of five performances.  Programs are selected to complement current classroom curriculum with creative and imaginative learning, critical thinking opportunities, and live performance experiences.  Performance-specific study guides are made available to help educators integrate performance topics into classroom activities.

SchoolBus performances feature nationally touring professional guest artist presentations open to all public, private, homeschool, and accredited pre-school/daycare groups with students age four and above. This new daytime school field trip program will offer performances in the new 1000-seat state-of-the-art John and Alice Butler Hall complete with convenient bus access and parking.

The following is the full slate of inaugural SchoolBus offerings. All shows are at 10:00 a.m. and
