UD Forms Partnership with University of Iowa College of Law

President Jeffrey F. Bullock, today, announced the formation of a partnership between The University of Dubuque and the University of Iowa College of Law in Iowa City. The Iowa Law “3+3” Program would allow UD undergraduates in their junior year of study to apply for admission to Iowa Law’s Juris Doctor (JD) Program.
“The University is pleased and honored to partner with the University of Iowa College of Law in a unique 3+3 program,” commented University of Dubuque President Jeffrey F. Bullock. “This program will offer UD students a tremendous opportunity to compete for admission into one of this country’s top 20 law schools! We will work with our students to prepare them for admission as well as provide them with a strong ethical foundation essential for a life of service in any profession, and most certainly in the field of law. The University of Dubuque is honored to be the first private school in Iowa to become a signatory to this memorandum of understanding.”
Students interested in pursuing their law degree with Iowa Law will submit their application along with the score from their Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) during their junior year of study. Qualified applicants will be offered admission and will be eligible for enrollment in Iowa Law’s JD Program. Successful applicants who advance through their first year of the JD Program will satisfy the remaining requirements for a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dubuque.

I also see it as a natural extension of the University of Dubuque’s commitment to social justice. It’s truly a remarkable opportunity for our students.”
