Spartans Taking Care of Business

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's basketball team improved to 8-0 on Thursday night after taking care of AIB College of Business by a 109-66 score. A small crowd on hand found their way through icy conditions in the area to witness 11 Spartans scoring in the home victory.

Andre Norris led all scorers with 25 points in just 17 minutes of action. He finished the night sinking 10-13 shots from the field, was a perfect 2-2 at the three point line, 3-3 at the free throw line and grabbed seven defensive rebounds. Mitchell Morrisey came off the bench to score 17 points and missed just one shot from the field (8-9). Kain Arthofer added 13 points and Gage Heffernan 11 points. 

The Spartans out rebounded AIB 45-29. Tyler Ware, Morrisey, and Norris all finished with seven rebounds. UD scored 46 points in the paint, 26 points off turnovers, and the Spartans bench out scored AIB 54-32.

UD ended the night shooting 59.1% from the field (39-66), 46.7% from the three point arc (7-15), and 82.8% from the free throw line (24-29).

The Spartans will next play in the Jon Davison Holiday Tournament on Dec. 30-31 in Stoltz Sports Center. UD will host the University of St. Francis (Ill.), Rockford University and Clarke University after Christmas.
