University of Dubuque Theological Seminary Announces 2014 Doctor of Ministry Cohort

The University of Dubuque Theological Seminary (UDTS) is pleased to announce that the 2014 Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) Cohort will be led by Dr. Jerry Andrews, senior pastor, First Presbyterian Church of San Diego, CA and Dr. Bradley Longfield, dean and professor of church history at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary.
Dr. Andrews holds degrees from William Tyndale College, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Princeton Theological Seminary, the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Chicago. Dr. Longfield holds degrees from Wesleyan University, Yale University, and Duke University, and most recently is the author of Presbyterians and American Culture: A History.
The UDTS Doctor of Ministry degree emphasizes congregational renewal. This particular cohort will address renewal by focusing on Scripture and prayer in community. It will engage in close reading and prayerful study of Romans and the Psalms and join in vigorous communal reflection on what it means to be the church – the people of God. Dr. Richard Shaffer, associate dean and director of the D.Min. Program, stated, “We are tremendously excited about the 2014 cohort. Drs. Andrews and Longfield are known across the Presbyterian Church and bring a wealth of knowledge about the faith and practices of the church.”
The Doctor of Ministry degree requires attendance at three annual two-week seminars followed by a ministry focus project or doctoral thesis. The 2014 seminar will meet on campus in Dubuque, May 18-30. Applications are now being received.
