Football Honors Student-Athletes at Season Banquet

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque football team held their end of the season banquet on Sunday, Feb. 16 and awarded several special awards. The 2013-14 senior class helped set 33 school records, finished their four years at UD with an Iowa Conference winning percentage of .589, and finished with 58 Academic All-Iowa Conference selections.
The Spartans are honored to have 14 Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-Region First Team honorees, eight Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, three consecutive NFF Campbell Trophy Semifinalists, two AFCA First Team All-Americans, two AP Little All-Americans, two consecutive IIAC Duane Schroeder Scholar Athlete of the Year recipients, and two Gagliardi Award finalists and one Gagliardi Award winner since 2010.
Announced were the four captains for the 2014 season: Zach Marotta, Dominique Ravenell, Tyler Rutenbeck, and Trevor Stauner.
The Spartan coaching staff honored the football student-athletes with the following awards which were voted on by teammates:

Offensive Newcomer of the Year - Bryan Bradshaw

Highest Team Grade Point Average - Doug Lillibridge (4.0 GPA)
