Men's Golf Continue To Win

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The University of Dubuque men's golf team continued where the squad left pff last fall, by once again claiming another golf title on Monday at the 15-team 2014 Webster University Men's Golf Invitational held on March 30-31 in St. Louis, Mo. The Sunset Country Club (Par 72, 6,627 yards) played tough and challenged the student-athletes on the final day. UD trailed the Central  College Dutch by three strokes after the opening round and rallied back the final day to tie with Spalding with a team score of 606. The Spartans finished with the low round of 308 to claim their seventh first place finish of the 2013-14 season.

The Spartans Eric Wolfe (Sr., Cuba City, Wis./Cuba City HS) led the Spartan linksters with a score of 148 to tie for third overall. Josh Schuberg (Jr., Elburn, Ill./Kaneland HS) finished with a two-day total of 149 to place fifth overall. Martin Odegard (Sr., Dubuque, Iowa/Hempstead HS) tied for 10th overall with a score of 152. Mitchell Sobotta (Sr., Arcadia, Wis./Arcadia HS) tied for 34th with a score of 159 and Cameron Shere (Jr., Freeport, Ill./Pecatonica HS) tied for 49th with a 164.

The Spartans continue action on Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5 at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational at Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Ill. (IWU Invite results will be available here )
