Men's Golf Lead by Three Strokes at IIAC Championships

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's golf team entered the third round of the 2014 IIAC Men's Golf Championships with a seven stroke lead. Friday afternoon, the lead was narrowed to three strokes as the hard charging Central College Dutch gained ground with one round remaining. UD enters the final round with a team score of 905 as Central enters with a score of 908. UD and Central have distanced the field with Luther in third place with a score of 925. UD's Eric Wolfe stretched his advantage to seven strokes for medalist honors after he finished with a round of 75 on Friday. All five Spartans are currently in the Top-16 of the field.
University of Dubuque has led the championships from the start for coach Jon Davison after shooting rounds of 295, 306, and 304 for a team score of 905 (+49 over Par). The Spartans Eric Wolfe has also led in medalist honors from the opening tee shot with rounds of 70, 70, and 75 for a total of 215 for a +1 over Par through three rounds. Teammate Josh Schuberg is seventh overall after scores of 73, 77, and 78 for a total score of 228 (+14 over Par). Martin Odegard finished with rounds of 74, 83, and 75 for a total of 232 (+18 over Par) and is in 12th place overall. Mitch Sobotta is battling a sore wrist and has finished with scores of 78, 80, and 76 and sits 15th overall with a 234 (+20 over Par). Troy Krueger is tied for 16th overall after shooting a 79, 79, and 78 for a score of 236 (+22 over Par).
