Men's Golf Prepare for NCAA Division III National Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The NCAA Division III Men's Golf Committee has announced the teams and individuals selected to participate in the 2014 NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships. The University of Dubuque men's golf team automatically qualified after winning the IIAC Championships on May 3. The championships will be held May 13-16, at Grandover Resort, in Greensboro, North Carolina. The championships will be hosted by Guilford College and the Greensboro Sports Commission. A total of 210 participants will compete at the 2014 championships.
Thirty-one conferences were awarded an automatic qualification for the championships. Three teams were selected from Pool B, which consists of independent institutions, and institutions that are members of conferences that do not meet the requirements for automatic qualification. The final seven berths were reserved for Pool C, which are institutions from automatic-qualifying conferences that are not the conference champion and any remaining Pool B teams. The top five individuals are selected from the remaining players who have not qualified with a team.

Individuals: Brian Burt (Hampden-Sydney), Rory Doll (Nebraska Wesleyan), Alex Kapraun (St. Thomas), Mikey McGinn (Cal Lutheran), and Rick O’Connell (Hampden-Sydney).
"We are privileged that the NCAA chose Greensboro as the 2014 and 2015 site for the Division III men's golf championship," said Henri Fourrier, President of the Greensboro Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. "Greensboro gained national exposure when the event was hosted here in 2011 at Grandover Resort. The return of this championship confirms Greensboro's reputation as a leading sports destination."The Grandover Resort sits on the south side of Greensboro among 1,500 acres of oak, pine, and dogwood-covered hills. David Graham and Gary Panks designed two 18-hole golf courses, which were both ranked "4½ Stars" by Golf Digest and are listed among "America's Best Places to Play."
