In Vince, Pinero artfully tells the story of the late Vince Lombardi, a Fordham football player who had planned to enter the priesthood, but instead won six state championships as a high school football coach. Lombardi then went on to serve as offensive line coach under the famed Red Blaik at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. In 1959 Lombardi became head coach of the Green Bay Packers, and took the cellar-dwelling team from its worst season in history to win five world championships during his nine-year coaching span.

Pinero’s one-man play premiered in 1996 in Studio City, California, and has since been showcased in theaters across the nation. John’s intense, contagious, and inspiring portrayal of Vince Lombardi has earned him keynote speaking engagements for numerous corporations and venues, including the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame. Pinero also portrayed Lombardi in the 2006 official pre-game Super Bowl promotional videos.
