UD vs. BVU Football Game Notes

Oct 24, 2014

DUBUQUE, Iowa The Spartans oppose another offensive juggernaut as Buena Vista brings their four-game winning streak to town. After dropping their first two games (UW-Platteville and Concordia-Moorhead (Wis.) by the combined score of 93-12, the Beavers have executed their once-anemic offense swimmingly in their last four wins. The senior trio of QB Bobby Brown, RB Dylan Barrett, and WR Gunner Gilland lead the Iowa Conference in their respective disciplines along with total offense on the team side.

The Spartan defense will have their hands full and boasts three of the top-six IIAC tacklers, Trevor Stauner, Vincent Whipple, and Blaine Snitker to aid in the effort. They will bring their A-game as they attempt to hold a Buena Vista attack that is 9-1 the last two seasons when they score at least 29 points1.

It has been an offensive tutorial during the Coach Zweifel era (2009-present) as the average point total of the winning team sits at 32.4 points. Expect a nail-biter after a game-winning field goal a year ago and an overtime affair in 2012.
