The University of Dubuque’s Heritage Center continues its Live at Heritage Center Performing Arts Series with The Great Gatsby on Friday, February 13 at 7:30 p.m.  Adapted for the stage by Simon Levy, the Montana Repertory Theatre brings the famous novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald to life, following the illustrious and persistent Jay Gatsby in the brilliance and magic of the roaring twenties.

WHEN:            Friday, February 13, 2014, 7:30 p.m.

The power of Fitzgerald’s narrative and the sheer beauty of his prose are captured in this haunting and heartfelt snapshot of the roaring twenties.  Much more than simply a story of lost love, The Great Gatsby recreates the Jazz Age world of youth, wealth, privilege, and reckless abandon.  Montana Rep reintroduces this classic, bringing Fitzgerald’s masterpiece to a new generation of theatergoers.

The performance will feature a free pre-show lecture in Babka Theatre from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., where UD Professor of English Jonathan Barz will share background information on F. Scott Fitzgerald and The Great Gatsby.  The pre-show session closes with a question-and-answer period.

Tickets for The Great Gatsby can be purchased now at Farber Box Office, open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Heritage Center, University of Dubuque, 2255 Bennett Street; by phone at 563.585.SHOW; or online at www.dbq.edu/heritagecenter.
