Up and Down Day for Men's Tennis

ASHFORD, Wis. - The University of Dubuque men's tennis team throttled Lakeland (Wis.), 9-0, and fell to Ashford (Wis.), 9-0, on Saturday.

Individually, the Spartans (4-6) dropped just 20 games in their nine matches against Lakeland (Wis.) (0-3). Richard Rhinehart swept his opponent in the number one spot in a score of 6-0, 6-0 and won doubles with Matthew Sablay, 8-2.

Matthew Sablay in the 2-spot had the closest match in the Spartans loss to Ashford (Wis.) (6-0), 5-7, 1-6 in singles and 4-8 in doubles. No other Spartan amassed more than three games individually and more than two games in doubles.

The Spartans host UW-Eau Claire (6-3) and Lawrence University (Wis.) (1-3) in a home triangular next Saturday, March 7 at 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
