Men's Lacrosse Downed by Beloit

BELOIT, Wis. - The University of Dubuque men's lacrosse team couldn't overcome 4-0 first quarter deficit as they fall to Beloit, 22-2, on Saturday afternoon.

The Spartans two leading scorers, Tyson Svoboda (13 goals) and Britton Harris (10), scored the Spartans only goals in the second quarter to cut the Beloit (5-6, 3-3 MLC) lead to 7-2. The Buccaneers would prove to be too much and pulled away after outshooting UD 57-13 on the game. Spartan goalkeeper Kyle Mullins held steady in goal after stopping 17 shots, his most since a 21-save effort at Carthage on March 25.

Colin Grever led the Spartans (2-9, 1-3 CCIW) with four ground balls while Josh Berey-Wingate won 9 of 20 faceoff attempts.

The Spartans travel to Elmhurst (Ill.) (6-8, 1-3 CCIW) next Saturday, April 25 at 1:00 p.m. in their season finale.
