Women's Golf Places Sixth at Loras Spring Invite

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Senior Lauren Smith tied for 10th to lead the University of Dubuque women's golf team to a sixth-place finish at the one-round Loras Spring Invite hosted by the Thunder Hills Country Club on Monday afternoon.
The Spartans took on the par 71, 5,379-yard Thunder Hills course in their first action of the spring. UD shot a 416 (+132) to finish sixth as Mount Mercy 333 (+49) won the Invite. The Spartans also trailed Iowa Conference foes, Central (365, +81), Coe (370, +86), and Loras (393, +109) in the effort.
Smith (87, +16) led the four-person Spartan contingent as Amanda Harrop tied for 18th (96, +25), Abigail Perry placed 29th (104, +31), and Nicole Toro (129, +58) ended up 36th.
