University of Dubuque Inducts Two Members to Faculty Hall of Fame

The University of Dubuque inducted two new members into its Faculty Hall of Fame on Thursday, April 30, 2015. Rasika Mudalige-Jayawickrama, associate professor of natural and applied sciences, was recognized with the John Knox Coit Prize, and Annette Bourland Huizenga, assistant professor of New Testament, was recognized with the William L. Lomax Award.

Jeffrey B. Dodge Veterans Center Dedication

On Saturday morning, October 17, the University of Dubuque will officially dedicate the new Jeffrey B. Dodge Veterans Center. The ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. on the University of Dubuque on the North Campus Quadrangle. The Jeffrey B. Dodge Veterans Center officially opened in spring of 2015 and is located in the garden level of Blades Hall. The dedication ceremony is free and open to the public.

The University of Dubuque’s Bisignano Art Gallery will open the exhibition Ahead of the Curve: The First Century of African American Experiences at the University of Dubuque on Saturday, October 10 at 6 p.m. The exhibition celebrates the inspiringly integrated and positive experiences of African Americans at UD since the brothers Solomon and Ben Butler entered in 1915, while also acknowledging the racial challenges and hardships encountered on and off campus.
