Field Events Anchor Men’s Track at Norse Relays

COMPLETE RESULTS
DECORAH, Iowa – The University of Dubuque men’s track and field team utilized two wins and three runner-up performances in the field events to place third at the Luther Norse Relays on Saturday afternoon.
The Spartans placed third with 96 points as Luther took home the team title with 134 points and Loras finished runner-up with 113.
Alexander Schlueter won the pole vault by nearly six inches with a mark of 4.10m/13-5.25 while Alex Link snagged UD’s second win in the discus with a toss of 45.27m/148-6, over two feet ahead of the field.
Standout freshman Blaze Murfin earned a runner-up showing in the shot put (15.18m/49-9.75) and placed third in the hammer throw (49.17m/161-4).
The final two runner-up finishes in the field came from Colby Rattenborg in the long jump (6.54m/21-5.5) and Charles Jackson III’s outdoor debut in the triple jump (12.58m/41-3.25).
On the track, the 4x200m relay team of Marcus Weathers, Jr., Isaiah Ellis, Clayton Gray, and Tyler Blanchard placed runner-up with a time of 1:31.26.
The Spartans head to UW-Platteville Invitational next Saturday, April 16.
