COMPLETE RESULTS
DUBUQUE, Iowa – Led by a pair of wins from senior Kebba Bojang in the triple jump, and Alex Schlueter in the pole vault, the Spartans set eight personal records at Loras’ Dr. Tucker Open on Friday night.

No team scores were kept in a meet occupied primarily by Iowa Conference schools in Buena Vista, Loras, Coe, and Simpson, along with Cornell and a handful of unattached competitors. All five IIAC squads will compete in the Iowa Conference outdoor championships starting next Thursday, May 12 at Wartburg.

Between both men’s and women’s teams, the Spartans set 25 personal records, two UD school records, three Iowa Conference leaders, and three Top-25 Division III marks.

Bojang’s leap of 14.38m/47-2.25 was a season-best as he sits 14th in the country and leads teammate CJ Jackson and the rest of the IIAC field by over a foot. Jackson currently owns the third-best triple jump (13.82m/45-4.25) in the conference after placing second in tonight’s meet.

Schlueter won his third career pole vault event, all this outdoor season, with a mark of 4.36m/14-3.5.

Other notables include Clayton Gray, who’s 100m time of 11.03 placed him second and ranks seventh in the Iowa Conference, and Alex Link, who turned in a personal record in the hammer throw (48.74m/159-11), good for third all-time in UD history. Link also added a second-place showing in the discus (45.25m/148-5) while freshman Blaze Murfin was runner-up in the shot put (14.46m/47-5.25).
