Men's Golf Takes Fifth at Duhawk Invite

PEOSTA, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's golf team placed fifth and was the highest finisher of four Iowa Conference teams at the one-round Duhawk Fall Invite held at Thunder Hill Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.

The Spartans, competing in their second meet of a normally abbreviated fall season, finished with an aggregate total of 309 to place ahead of fellow IIAC foes, Simpson (312), Loras (313), and Coe (322). Both Mount Mercy teams took first (287) and second (296), respectively, in the 14 team field. 

Lane Hawkins tied for ninth and paced the Spartans with a 75 (+4) on the par 71, 6,542 yard course at Thunder Hills. Chance Manternach (T16th, 76), Troy Krueger (T29th, 79), and Cameron Shere (T29th, 79) concluded the Spartan scoring. Tyler Engelken (T34th, 80) rounded out the Spartan Varsity.

UD's "B" team of Adam CoxAnders HaukoosCameron UpmannNicholas Kaufman, and Nathaniel Jackson placed 14th with a total of 343.

The Spartans head to the Oak Brook Golf Club for the Elmhurst College Invitational in Oak Brook, Ill. on September 15.
