Men's Tennis Capture Match Over Loras

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's tennis team captured the victory over the Loras College Duhawks on Wednesday afternoon by a 6-3 score.
The Spartans claimed two out of three doubles matches to jump out to an early 2-1 lead. Matthew Sablay at #2 singles and Ranfer Hernandez #3 singles made quick work of their opponents with 6-1, 6-3 and 6-2, 6-3 victories respectively. UD's #1 singles Justin Castro and the Duhawks Jason Derby gave the fans in attendance an exciting match to watch. Castro lost the opening set 3-6, but would rally to win the second set 6-1. A tie break third set would be dominated by Castro who claimed the set 6-2. The victory gave the Spartans their fifth win, which clinched the match for UD.
Jordan Hamling battled to a third set to win #4 singles 4-6, 6-1, 10-2.
