Men's Tennis Splits at Home

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's tennis team captured the win over the Simpson College Storm 6-3, but lost the second match to the Central College Dutch 0-9 on Saturday. The victory kept the Spartans hope alive of qualifying for the IIAC Tournament.
UD (2-5 in IIAC) has a lead over Simpson (1-5) who face Luther on April 30 in Indianola. Loras (2-3 in IIAC) has two matches left in league play (vs Coe on April 26 and vs. Wartburg with both matches in Dubuque.) UD has the tie break over Loras after capturing the dual 6-3 on April 13.
The Spartans won the #1 and #2 doubles match to grab an early 2-1 lead over Simpson. UD would win #1-#3 singles and claimed #6 Singles to end with a victory over the Storm by a 6-3 mark. UD lost to Central, but lost #1 and #3 singles in a third set.
