SALEM, Va. – Surrounded by the best senior players Division III has to offer, the University of Dubuque’s Andre Norris started and scored 18 points on 7 of 10 shooting at the Reese’s NABC All-Star game held in Salem, Va. on Saturday, March 19.

Norris and the West All-Stars fell short, 129-120, to the East in a game that featured 18 total dunks. At an average of one dunk per player, the All-Star game consisted of two senior players from each region and two senior players selected through online fan voting.

A high flyer who threw down 31 dunks this season, UD’s all-time leading scorer was the silent killer after stretching the defense with four 3s in an 18-point night. The 6-7 forward shot 4 of 6 from deep, while the rest of the West shot 5 of 23 on 3-pointers.

Norris scored the first basket of the game after winning the tip-off and posted five of the West’s first seven points. The Plainfield, Ill. native finished the game with the second-highest field goal percentage (70.0%) and second-most points (18) on the West team to go along with six rebounds, one assist, and one steal.

The back-to-back MVP played alongside guard Trey Bardsley of Nebraska Wesleyan, who was the lone All-Star to have competed against the Spartans this season.

“Andre played very well in the NABC all star game and it looked like he really enjoyed the experience,” said Head Coach Robbie Sieverding. “It was a great honor for him to be selected to play and he certainly held his own. The eighteen players that were chosen were the best players in Division III basketball and it was fun seeing him compete one more time. It was nice to see him receive credit and recognition after leading our team to four unbelievable seasons.”
