BOX SCORE
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Despite holding No. 20 Coe to 10 shots, including six in regulation, the University of Dubuque women's soccer tied with the Kohawks, 2-2, after double overtime for the first time in school history.

UD held the advantage in shots, 24-10, and corner kicks, 4-1, but ended up drawing for the first time since September 6 against Adrian College.

Junior Brianna Burkart set the stage for an overtime thriller with an unassisted, game-tying goal in the 66th minute. The Dubuque, Iowa native's third goal of the year countered a Coe (14-1-2, 4-1-1 Iowa Conference) goal in the 63rd that gave the Kohawks a 2-1 lead.

The Spartans hung on after being outshot, 4-1, in the first overtime for the first draw against Coe in school history and snapped its 12-game winning streak against the Kohawks. UD moved to 12-2-1 in the all-time series.

Nevertheless, the Spartans (10-5-2, 2-3-1 Iowa Conference) spoiled the Kohawks bid for possession of first place in the Iowa Conference after overcoming Coe's goal in the 38th second of the game. In windy conditions, the Kohawks launched a shot from 30 yards out that was deflected off the hands of UD goalkeeper Paige Dykstra

UD responded with Emily Meeker's fifth goal of the year in the 36th minute off midfielder Lauren Cangelosi's slick assist from five yards out.

For the second time this season, senior forward Katie Lynn tallied double-digit shots with 10 on the game. Lynn now sits five shots away from becoming the Spartans all-time career leader.

The Spartans will do battle with their rivals, the Loras Duhawks, this Tuesday, October 24 at 5:00 p.m. for a chance to improve on their Iowa Conference seeding. Loras (9-5-2, 3-2-1 Iowa Conference) have won their last two Iowa Conference affairs against Luther and Buena Vista.
