Volleyball Drops Three at Coe Invite

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The University of Dubuque volleyball team fell to Carroll, UW-Stout, and UW-River Falls at the Coe College Mabel Lee tournament.
The Spartans dropped to 15-16 over the weekend with three games remaining, including their Iowa Conference finale with Loras on Wednesday, October 28.
CARROLL BOX SCORE
UD lost 3-0 (30-32, 10-25, 21-25)
UD hit a match-best .228 in the first set and finished with a .167 hitting percentage overall. It was no match for Carroll as they hit .241 on the match. Senior hitter Klaudia Basierak led the way with 14 kills and 15 digs.
UW-STOUT BOX SCORE
UD lost 3-2 (25-21, 20-25, 19-25, 25-23, 11-15)
The Spartans hit .300 in the first set to take the early 1-0 lead. It was short-lived as the Blue Devils won sets two and three en route to a five-set victory.
UD dropped to 4-5 all-time against UW-Stout and moved their record to 5-3 in five-set matches this season.
Basierak had a big night after posting a game-high 24 kills and a season-high 23 digs.
UW-RIVER FALLS BOX SCORE
UD lost 3-1 (25-17, 21-25, 21-25, 16-25)
Another opening set win wasn't enough as the Spartans fell in four sets. UD held the Falcons to a .165 hitting percentage, but the Spartan offense could only muster a .121.
Defensively, middle hitter Anna Runge racked up a combined seven blocks while libero Kristin Wright totaled 24 digs.
