BOX SCORE
DUBUQUE, Iowa - Senior Katie Lynn scored once and assisted on two other shots to lead the University of Dubuque women's soccer team to a convincing 6-0 win over Buena Vista on Saturday night.

The trio of Spartan seniors in Lynn, Lisa Rosas, and Kim Trinco were honored post-game and made a big time impact in their second-to-last regular season home game at Oyen Field.

Lynn netted her team-leading ninth goal of the year off a Ryann Abeyta assist to give the Spartans a 4-0 lead just 30 minutes into the game and assisted on a pair of sophomore Kyleigh McLaughlin goals in the third and 24th minutes of the first half.

UD outshot the Beavers (3-11, 0-5 Iowa Conference), 19-3, including 14 shots on goal that included Rosas' first goal of the year in the 57th minute to complete the Spartan scoring.

It was a dominant effort in the Spartans (10-4-1, 2-3 Iowa Conference) sixth shutout of the year as Trinco and the Spartan defense kept Buena Vista scoreless in Iowa Conference play.

The Spartans held a 16-0 shot advantage in the first half and took a 4-0 lead into the break. Spartan sophomore Kyleigh McLaughlin wasted no time in getting Lynn and her fellow seniors a quick lead after netting her sixth goal of the year off a Lynn assist on the left side in the fourth minute. McLaughlin teamed up with Lynn again in the 24th minute, sandwiching sophomore Emily Meeker's solo shot straight out from goal at the 19-minute mark. Lynn's goal rounded out the first half as an own goal and Rosas brought home the victory in the second.

UD stayed unbeaten against Buena Vista and moved to 15-0 in the all-time series. The Spartans have outscored the Beavers, 71-3, over the course of the series.

The Spartans travel to UW-Oshkosh this Tuesday, October 20 at 7:00 p.m.
