Women's Soccer Hold Rams Scoreless

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's soccer team held the visiting Cornell College Rams scoreless in a 3-0 victory on Oyen Field. 

UD grabbed a quick three goal advantage in the first half Tuesday night. The Spartans were able to give quality minutes to 21 members of the women's soccer team after they finished the evening with 27 shots and 11 of them being on goal. UD dominated the corner kicks 6-1. Katie Lynn ended with nine shots, Kyleigh McLaughlin had six, as UD had 10 student-athletes earn a shot in the victory.

The Spartans rotated a trio of keepers, Paige Dykstra went the opening 34:02 before turning the reigns over to Megan Moll. Moll gained 28:37 in the net before Katie Silberstein would finish the night with 27:21. The Spartans would hold the rams to just four shots and a slim two shots on goal. The Spartans would fail to convert on many open scoring opportunities, but came away with the 3-0 win. 

The Spartans maintained a rank in the North Region and are ranked #9 in the latest NSCAA Coaches Poll released on Sept. 29. UD will travel to face Iowa Conference foe, the Simpson College Storm on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 5:00 p.m.
