Sep 15, 2015

DECORAH, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's tennis team found a tough road opponent on Tuesday afternoon and suffered a 1-8 loss. After a lengthy delay for lightning in the area, the Luther College Norse would sweep the doubles matches and for the first time in regular season for UD's, #1 singles player Arantxa Martinez, lost to an Iowa Conference opponent (Maggie Helms) in a hard fought 6-4, 5-7, 10-5 upset.

Mariah Scott captured the lone match by winning the #5 singles match over Luther's Anna Pearson 6-4, 2-6, 10-8. The Spartans continue their road games as they will face the Wartburg College Knights in Waverly on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 9:30 a.m. After a scheduling conflict, UD will not be playing Knox College at 12:30 p.m. in Waverly.
