Women's Tennis Lose Final Home Fall Match, Prepare for IIAC

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's tennis team dropped their final fall home match of the season to a challenging unbeaten Augustana College team 0-9.
The Spartans #1 singles, Arantxa Martinez, lost for the first time at home in singles this season. Her home singles record slipped to 5-1 this season and the Spartans overall record fell to 1-10 overall.

UD will travel to Cedar Rapids this weekend Oct. 9-10 as they compete in the Iowa Conference individual tournament. Matches will be played at Clark Racquet Center and the Veterans Memorial Tennis Center in Cedar Rapids, barring any weather related delays. Seeding will be released later this week, but expect Martinez to be a front runner in the "A" flight singles after sweeping through the conference opponents a year ago unbeaten, losing in the championship "A" flight match for her first loss of the IIAC. Martinez and doubles partner Marissa Joers will most likely grab a seed in the "A" flight doubles as well.
