Men's Basketball Capture City Crown with Victory Over Clarke

DUBUQUE, Iowa- The University of Dubuque Men’s Basketball team collect city crown after an 89-72 victory over Clarke University Crusaders on Jon Davison Court.

The Spartans dominated the first half, outscoring the Crusaders 47-30 in the half. Jacob Mohlis caught fire early for UD, hitting seven of nine shots in the first half to have 17 first half points. Mohlis would end up finishing with 22 points for a game high. Jake Weber was his typical self as he recorded yet another double-double with 11 points and a game high 14 rebounds. Jamaree Atwater had a couple of big dunks to excite the crowd and filled up the stat sheet with 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals.

UD held Clarke to 40% shooting from the field and 8-25 from behind the arc of 32%. The Spartans also forced 11 Crusader turnovers, while collecting eight steals. UD managed to get to the free throw line 22 times, converting 17 of them for 77.3%.

The Spartans resume conference play on Wednesday night as they host Coe College at the Stoltz Sports Center at 8:00 p.m.
