Ortiz Finishes 2nd at IIAC Championships

STORM LAKE, Iowa- The University of Dubuque Women’s Cross Country finished sixth in the Iowa Conference Championships out of nine teams. Fabiola Ortiz finished second individually out of 135 total runners.
Fabiola Ortiz finished in second place overall with a time of 22:05.4, which is the fastest time of her career and besting her own school record by a staggering 20 seconds. Fabiola Ortiz’ performance today not only earned her a school record but IIAC All-Conference honors. Kiersten Withold finished second for the Spartans with a time of 24:11.2, which was a season best.
The season continues in two weeks when the team heads to NCAA Division III Regionals hosted by Carlton College in Northfield, Minnesota.
