Box Score

DUBUQUE, Iowa- In a physical game that featured 17 combined penalties, the University of Dubuque men's lacrosse team used big second and fourth quarters to roll past the Northwestern St. Paul Eagle, 14-3.

The game got off to a slow start as the Eagles took a 1-2 lead into the second quarter where the Spartans offense would find it's rhythm. After falling behind 0-2, UD scored the next five goals, three of which came from Michael Julius. Julius also found the back with only 21 seconds left until halftime to give the Spartans the momentum heading into the break with a 6-3 lead.

Michael Julius was everywhere on the field Friday night, racking up nine assists and two goals. On three of those assists, Julius connected with Michael Jango for three of his five goals on the night. Josh Berry-Wingate also added four goals in the Spartans blowout win. The offense as a whole was clicking, as they fired off 57 shots, the second most in a game this season, and 29 of them went on goal.

UD's defense had one of their best games of the season, allowing just three goals, none of which came in the last 31 minutes of action. In the net, Kyle Mullins picked up yet another win, coming up with some magnificent saves to limit the Eagles and collect seven total saves on the night. Every Spartan that was available tonight saw action in the game.

UD has a quick turnaround as they host the University of Dallas on Sunday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. at Oyen Field.
