Volleyball Suffers Home Opener Loss

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque Spartans fell to the Cornell College Rams 0-3 on Wednesday at Stoltz Sports Center by set scores of 21-25, 18-25,22-25. In the Spartans home opener in front of a large crowd, UD would jump out to early leads only to have the Rams attack to take the lead in each set.
UD finished set three with 10 kills and looked to be on their way to taking the third set after stretching the match into a lengthy advantage before a couple of service errors gave the lead back to the Rams. The Spartans dropped to 2-3 on the season.
Their next match is Friday at UW-Platteville at 4 p.m. The IIAC opener is September 13th at Luther College.
