DUBUQUE, Iowa - University of Dubuque Men's basketball player, Jake Weber, was named to the D3hoops.com team of the week for the first time this season.

Jake Weber (Dubuque, Iowa/Dubuque Hempstead) averaged 26.5 points, 15.5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2.5 blocks in the Spartans two games last week. "It is a great honor to be named to the d3hoops.com Team of the Week.," said Weber. "There's a lot of great players in D3 basketball and to be recognized as a top five player in the nation within any week during the season is a great achievement."

On the season, Weber is averaging 16.9 points, 12.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. Weber's 12.9 rebound per game is fifth best in all of NCAA Division III. He is also tied for second in NCAA DIII with 13 double-doubles, one behind the leader.

The Spartans travel across town on Saturday to face their rival, Loras. Women's game is set to tip off at 2:00 p.m., with the men's game to follow at 4:00 p.m. "I am looking forward to our upcoming games. Our next four games are located here in Dubuque which will be an opportune time to make a late push towards another conference championship," continued Weber. "The crowd and environment in Stoltz has been awesome all season long. We are going to continue to need that support throughout our home games and our fans to travel across University Ave. for our game against Loras this Saturday."
