WAVERLY, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's golf team finished ninth in the 2016 IIAC Women's Golf championships with a four round score of 1,627. The Spartans opened with a round of 408, fought back and trimmed off several strokes the second round after shooting their low round of the tournament a 385. The final weekend UD narrowed the gap with eighth place Buena Vista after shooting 14 strokes less than the Beavers in round three after firing a 425. The Spartans lowered it to a 409 in the final round.

Amanda Harrop led the Spartans with a 29th place overall (99-84-101-95=379). Abigail Perry finished 32nd (97-91-101-98=387), Victoria Woltz tied for 37th (99-104-102-103=408), and Brianna Finnegan placed 40th (113, 106, 121, 113=453).

The Central College Dutch, captured their ninth championship in program history, placed three players in the top ten and finished the tournament with a 1,300 total — eight strokes clear of runner-up Wartburg College (1,308) and 25 clear of third-place Luther College (1,25).  Nebraska Wesleyan University (1,423), Simpson College (1,427), Coe College (1,428), Loras College (1,494), Buena Vista University (1,576) and University of Dubuque (1,627).
