BOX SCORE vs. Nebraska Wesleyan

LINCOLN, Neb. - The longest road game in league action would not be favorable for the Spartans women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon. UD fell behind early, but tied the game at 1-1 after a goal by Shelby Nicholson at 13:38. The host Prairiewolves grabbed the lead at the 63rd minute and extended their advantage to 3-1 at 72:04. The never quit Spartans would out shoot Nebraska Wesleyan 16-14 and cut the lead 2-3 with just over 30 seconds to play after a goal by Brianna Burkart off a corner kick.

UD finished with 12 shots on goal with Lauren Cangelosi, Nicholson, and Lexus Rose each having two shots on point. Goal keeper Megan Moll stopped five shots on goal. The Prarirewolves tried to wear the Spartans down with 25 student-athletes making an appearance in the game while the injury riddled Spartans would use just four substitutes in the loss.

Wednesday, UD (5-5-1 overall, 1-1 in IIAC) will continue the conference action when #21-ranked Loras (5-3 overall, 1-0 in IIAC) makes the short drive to Oyen Field at 5:00 p.m.
