Women's Soccer Defeated by Loras

DUBUQUE, Iowa- Women’s soccer dropped their match Wednesday night 1-4, against their crosstown rivals, Loras College.
For most of the first half, it was a back and forth defensive battle; with both teams having their changes but no one could find the back of the net. Loras converted off of a deep free kick in the 44th minute from Gretchen Schutz to give the Duhawks the lead. The Duhawks added two more goals early in the second half to go up 3-0.
The Spartans, Kyleigh McLaughlin got Dubuque on the board in the 69th minute. The goal was McLaughlin’s third of the season. It sparked a little Spartan rally that jump started their attack, but just could not convert on any chances.
The Spartans are back at home on Saturday night at 5:00 p.m. against Simpson.
