2018 IIAC Baseball Tournament Notes

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The 2018 Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball champions and #1-seeded, the University of Dubuque Spartans, will begin play in the IIAC Baseball Tournament on Thursday, May 10 at 5:00 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids.
Ticket Information:
Single-day tickets are $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for students with a college ID or younger. Iowa Conference faculty and staff may present their IDs for free admission as well. An “All-Sessions” pass is available as well at a price of $16.00 for adults and $8.00 for students. Tickets can be purchased in advance by contacting the Kernels office at 319.363.3887.
Quick Hitters
-The Spartans finished the regular season with the best batting average of any Iowa Conference team this season at .308.
-UD's 252 runs in 2018 is second in the IIAC, finishing only 12 runs behind Loras' 264.
-As a pitching staff, UD finished with a 3.44 ERA, the second best in the conference.
-The pitching staff also heads into the tournament with the best strikeout-to-walk ratio in the IIAC at 3.72.

Game 7 at 4:00 p.m. - Game 5 Winner vs. Lower Seeded Loser of Games 3 & 4
Game 8 at 7:00 p.m. - Game 7 Winner vs. Higher Seeded Loser of Games 3 & 4
(Exception: If one of the Game 3 or 4 Losers already has had a bye, that team will play in Game 7,
regardless of seed.)
Saturday, May 12
